What is SpellingSteps?

SpellingSteps is a carefully crafted “building block” approach to phonics and spelling which explains in details how the different letter sounds and combinations make words. It evolves through three important steps:

Learning to hear sounds when we say words.

Learning the specific letters that stand for each sound.

Checking if the words are spelt as they sound.

Every word used in this application satisfies the following criteria:

The child should understand (the meaning) of the word he or she is asked to spell.

The child should be able to pronounce the word.

The word must be grade appropriate.
